Where in the world are we going?

First question we are asked when we tell people God has called us to be missionaries. One thing I have learned about God is He has a perfect timing for everything, including revealing to us where He wanted us to go. After many months and much prayer, Matt and I feel certain He is sending us to Haiti. How did we know? Well, as I mentioned in an earlier blog, God will use people, places, things, circumstances, absurd thoughts, and most importantly scripture, to confirm His will to you. I will give just a few of the many confirmations we received in many different ways. Matt had to have a new trailer built for work this past year. Come to find out the guy that built his trailer has a place in Haiti (God using people). Our first trip to Haiti in October, I knew we would be moving there with our kids (God using absurd thoughts). Another couple in our church was praying about going to Haiti but we had faith and (God worked out the circumstances) calling that couple in another direction. On my second trip to Haiti the team went to look at land for sale and I knew when I laid eyes on it that God had just revealed our new home to me (God using places). Also on this same trip God gave me the scripture John 16:13 telling me the spirit of truth had come and had told me what is yet to come (God using scripture). And he even now continues to confirm us because Satan is attacking. Even on the way home from the beach yesterday we passed a sign in the middle of nowhere with a haitian creole word on it (God using things)! Second question we are always asked, when are you going? Answer……….in God’s perfect timing 🙂
